Chapters @ Bangsar & Chapter One @ Hartamas

Fresh culinary chapters recently began in Bangsar & Desa Sri Hartamas; first up, the story of Chapters, a Bangsar bar & grill for motorbike enthusiasts.

Beef's the boss on Chapters' masculine-sanctioned menu, monopolizing everything from marvelously meaty enchiladas (RM18++) ...

... to 250-gram-patty burgers richly topped with chili con carne (RM19++).

Hearty & fiercely flavorsome. Maybe we'll come back for Chapters' steaks, spaghetti bolognese, beef pepperoni pizzas & beef green curries sometime.

Merlot & Sauvignon Blanc, at RM18++ per glass (RM80++ for bottles).

Chapters is located beside American Choppers, a Harley-Davidson dealership.

Turning the page to Chapter One, which has secured a strong following in Sri Hartamas & will be opening a second branch in Kota Damansara's Sunway Giza.

Porky pub grub's the highlight here. A classic pork burger (RM28++) features a 200-gram minced meat patty, melted cheese, sauteed onions, mushrooms & tomatoes; not bad, even though the patty tastes a tad too processed for our preference.

Slow-braised pork shoulder sliders in mantou with Oriental spiced gravy, julienne leeks & carrots (RM14++). Nitpicking: the buns could be steamed softer & fluffier.

Deep-fried pork ribs cooked with fermented bean curd (RM15++), with sweet-&-sour house-made Thai chili sauce. Crispy-juicy, making up for their boniness.

Watermelon Martini (skyy citrus, midori, watermelon juice).

Toasted Almond (skyy vanilla, vodka, amaretto, milk).

Excellent house-pouring wines, with Chilean, South African, Italian & French ones by the glass at no more than RM22++. The Torresella Blush Pinot Grigio is a nice rose.
