Two reviews in one entry: lead us first into temptation at Our Daily Bread, a bakery-cafe where visitors to Publika Shopping Gallery can loaf around & devour doughy delights till kingdom come (or at least until the outlet closes at 10pm).
Butter gipfel (you say croissant, we say gipfel? blame the Swiss-German divide) & blueberry muffin (as marvelously moist on Earth as it might be in heaven).
Olive & fig ciabattas. Tasty enough to consume entirely on their own; forgive us our sins as we gobble them up at teatime.
Rye loaf with homemade kaya. Hallowed be this caramel-creamy coconut jam.
Moving on to another mall: Pavilion now has Crumbs lying on its food-court floor. This scone-&-yogurt kiosk marks the first overseas franchise of a Hong Kong-based business that operates eight branches in the Chinese city-state.
Love the thick, tangy yogurt here, topped with cinnamon-tinged crispy crumbs. Customers can choose from a wide range of extra toppings such as Maltesers, M&Ms, mochi & marshmallows.
Three types of scones are sold: raisin, chocolate & cheese, a steal for RM2.90 each. Fabulously fresh & beautifully buttery.
We end where we began, with a last look at Our Daily Bread. Amen.

Wonder if they collect 12 baskets full of Crumbs after having their Daily Bread? =P
ReplyDeleteOoh more yogurt places! How does it match up against Moo Cow..?
Adam
Adam: hahah ... now that would be quite a miracle, definitely! =) well, crumbs only has one yogurt flavor, so I think their selling point is the toppings. Their signature cinnamon crumbs complement their yogurt really well, and they've got a reasonable range of fruits, candy and even condensed milk for extra toppings :D
ReplyDeleteAgree wtih Adam.
ReplyDeleteI would always benchmark with Moo Cow, which incidentally, also has 1 natural flavour and another that is rotating on monthly basis. It's pretty cheap too.
How's the pricing for Crumbs?
BREAD! I have found one pretty good kaya in KL so far but I got to try this as well..
Though I swore off Publika area after seeking out Craft Bakers, seems that I do not have a choice but to hop in here for my "analysis" of the breads :P
How la.. this means more carbs.. and I've put on weight lately!!
the homemade kaya got me salivating!! it looks so creamy and delicious! haven't had good kaya for a very long time~
ReplyDeleteCrumbs is so near to my office. I could certainly live with some good yogurt with the cinnamon tinged crispy crumbs.
ReplyDeleteam surprised the scones are rather cheap at RM2.90. half expected it to be at least rm4.
The olive & fig ciabattas do look rather enticing. I believe Devil and I would follow your lead and devour them entirely on their own, with no spreads or embellishments. Yums!
ReplyDeleteLove how you ended your post with Amen. LOL! Will be in Pavilion later tonight. Hope the scones are still there. :)
ReplyDeleteI bought 1/2 dozen of scones from Crumbs...all 3 flavors...very nice...& if you are a cheese lover...'cheese' flavor would definitely be the choice! =)
ReplyDeleteoh YAY! A bakery in Publika!! :D Are there more stores now? Can't wait to get back and visit that place!!
ReplyDeleteRebecca: oh, crumbs' yogurt is quite pricey. i think even a regular-sized cup with only one choice of toppings costs above RM10. but it's quite a hearty, satisfying portion =) heheh, our daily bread is easier to find compared to craft bakers, since it's located inside the mall. i think you'll be fine though, cos you burn off any excess calories at the gym and with all your other activities! :D
ReplyDeleteMichelle: the kaya here was very flavorful. it could have been slightly less sweet, but i think many people will consider it near-perfect =)
Missyblurkit: heheh, yeah, and the scones are freshly baked and replenished throughout the day, so it's an excellent bargain, really :D
ReplyDeleteKenny: oh yeah, olives & figs already taste yummy, so why bother drowning their flavor with heavy jams or peanut butter, rite. i predict we'd all end up fighting over who gets the last crumb of bread! =)
Bangsar-babe: heheh, i pray you'll find (and enjoy) the scones tonite at pavilion! amen again! (as long as you get to the kiosk before 10pm) :D
ReplyDeleteMelissa: yaaa, the scones are so evil and addictive! i wonder if each scone carries 500 calories. arghhhhhh! :D
Vien: oh yeah, more places are opening up at publika, but rather slowly. the latest branches of marmalade cafe & wondermilk cupcakes are also here now =)
I'm attracted to the blueberry muffin.. imagining that they're just out from the oven, fluffy and moist. Ahh heavenly!!
ReplyDeleteIamthewitch: yep, your description sounds 100 percent accurate! those scones really made my morning :D
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of these frozen yogurt kiosk lately. I still prefer Moo Cow but I've yet to try Crumbs. What's their pricing like?
ReplyDeleteChong: oh, just a bit pricier than moo cow. I think one cup with a choice of one topping was about RM11. The cup seems bigger than moo cow's though, heh =)
ReplyDeleteI like how they display the bread. It's indeed tastefully done. And maltesers toppings?!! That rocks too!
ReplyDeleteeiling: heheh, it's a carnival of carbs!!! :D
ReplyDeleteYou'd totally get the last crumb of bread... cos I'd go and get a fresh order! Hehe.
ReplyDeletekenny: bah, say only wan. i bet you'd be too malas to drive out to go buy fresh bread! hah! :P
ReplyDeleteYay!! One more new frozen yogurt place near my office!
ReplyDeleteSmitten: Hope you enjoy it! It's pretty tasty =)
ReplyDeleteawesome! love the cakes from marmalade!! :D
ReplyDeleteVien: and there's definitely more to come! :D
