Brussels Beer @ Ampang

Brussels Beer Cafe's third branch is slightly off the beaten track at Ampang, but it still draws a decent-sized crowd on weekday nights.

Pan-fried pork belly. We were looking for something light but meaty to munch on; this sweet-&-savory dish fit that bill, though it wasn't outstandingly tasty.

Leffe Blonde & Limon Mojito.

    ReplyDelete
  4. lfb: mussels, got here ... but if u're searching for muscles, i suggest u visit a gym, not a restaurant! :D

    ReplyDelete
  5. Haha, but the muscles in a gym aren't for dining, unlike those at a restaurant ma... Or do I mean mussels, again? Er... :P

  7. lfb: well, muscles don't really rock my world ... give me crab cakes over beefcakes any day! :p
augustdiners: but no matter what, there'll always be a small spot in kelantan that'll be safe from this franchise :D

  8. Well, crab cakes are fine too, just don't give me crabs. :P

    ReplyDelete
  9. lfb: with your sordid history, i'm sure u've had them many a time, no :D

    ReplyDelete
  10. Nah, like I said me no like crabs. Too many pincers and what not. I do love to mop up the gravy with fresh and pipin' hot mantou, though. :P

  11. lfb: ohhhh u meant THOSE crabs! and here i thought u were talking about ... oh nevermind :P

    ReplyDelete
  12. Now who's talking gibberish? Ape cakap u? *scratches head*

    ReplyDelete
  13. lfb: that 'mr innocent' act may fool others, but i can see through it like a pair of transparent swimming trunks! :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. Me, transparent? I assure you I am as thick and opaque as a block of wood. *scratches head some more, if only cos it feels SO GOOD*

    Heh.

    ReplyDelete
  15. lfb: a case of afternoon wood? if u've got an itch, don't just scratch it ... u should get someone to take a good look at it :P

  16. Ah, I can have Devil take care of that when we get home later. The benefits of settling down and all that, I guess.

You, on the other hand, have the advantage of sowing your wild oats or beras, as it were, in any paddy field you so choose. Sweet life, no? :D

  17. lfb: in truth, it has been very long since i last plowed these fields. the soil seems parched, arid and barren by now. i really should start searching for green pastures :P

    ReplyDelete
  18. Start by nibbling a little first. Don't try to chew up the entire field; might get indigestion. :P

    ReplyDelete
  19. lfb: hmmm. i think for now, i'll just lie in these fields of gold, and wait for the west wind to move my lazy ass :P

    ReplyDelete
  20. That would have to be some strong wind. Maybe your ass can help by providing some of the wind for lift? :P

    ReplyDelete
  21. lfb: a true gentleman never discusses certain bodily functions! but nope, all i need is a little wind beneath my wings. where's bette when u really want her? :P

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Divine Miss M. begs your pardon but she doesn't imagine even her lungs can provide enough wind for your wafer-thin wings... :P

P.S. Wait, not wafer. You said Mars Bars, right? :P

    ReplyDelete
  23. lfb: hmph. did u ever know that u're NOT my hero. :P
p.s. we are what we eat, rite. and i seriously estimate i've eaten more than 100 mars bars in my lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No? You sure? I always had this vision of you belting out Mariah Carey's hit to images of me every night before you went to bed, in rather creepy homage. Ah well. Nevermind, then.

P.S. I actually loathe Mars Bars. Give me a good Sneakers anytime.

    ReplyDelete
  25. lfb: i have to respond to your p.s. in a full-fledged comment status! gasp! mars bars rank among my top 10 favorite food in the known universe! comparing snickers to mars is like comparing, well, susan boyle to the rolling stones :P

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oops. Typo. Snickers. Not Sneakers.

But Mars Bars where got nice? C'mon lah, you sure you didn't confuse them with Snickers? :P

    ReplyDelete
  27. lfb: subconsciously, your mind is telling u that snickers tastes like sneakers. and i agree. mars bars, meanwhile, are soooooo good. that rich caramel, the gooey chocolate, the silky smooth, creamy nougat ... better than sex! :D

    ReplyDelete
  28. Better than sex? Okay, now I am certain you have gone too far without. Need to round up some hot young things for you. You need the exercise, evidently, and your memory some jogging up. :P

    ReplyDelete
  29. lfb: even better, how about sex AND mars mars? melt some of those bars, drizzle them all some hot young thing's, ermm, things, then slowly proceed to lick/suck it all up ... hey wait, this is supposed to be a food blog, not a porn site! :P

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mars Mars? Are you sure you don't want some Twinkies,er, Nymphies from Venus instead? :P

    ReplyDelete
  31. lfb: aiyo, if i can overlook your typos, u should overlook mine as well. twinkies? how did u know my type? *blush*

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha, a little lemongrassy cricket told me. :P

    ReplyDelete
