Jo's Authentic Fish Market @ Kuchai Maju

Flying fish & Pacific saury sashimi (RM30 & RM40 respectively), alongside sushi draped with everything from salmon to yellowtail & amberjack: Jo's Market is a reasonably pleasant stop for a Japanese meal of seafood. The produce proves satisfactory, the setting is inviting, service is helpful, & both sake & wine are available, the latter by both bottles & glasses. Bonus tip: After you've finished the Pacific saury sashimi, have its head & bones fried to a pleasurable crisp at no extra cost.

Jo's Authentic Fish Market
17, Dinasti Sentral, Jalan Kuchai Maju 18, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur. Open Tues-Sun, lunch & dinner.

  2. Ah, another one fashioned after a fish market around the same area as Eatomo. This one has a more upmarket look. The fried heads and bones of the sanma must be delicious! ;)

    1. Contact.ewew: ooo, there are quite crucial differences though - jo's is strictly Japanese in its approach, while Eatomo offers a diversely international menu ;)

  3. If I remember correctly there is another restaurant that serves fresh seafood like this at nearby (Taman Desa)?

  5. Service is helpful? Inept as hell. Asked for a recommendation and all I'm getting are blank stares. They are actively avoiding me at this point. Yes, I'm actually in the restaurant at this moment.
