Oiso & Mr Dakgalbi

Octopus at Oiso: A Korean hotpot teeming with tentacles, bolstered with beef bulgogi & vegetables, seems to be an occasional speciality at some branches of this popular chain. We had ours back in 2014 in Menara Hap Seng; perhaps it's still available.

Oiso is at Menara Hap Seng, The Sphere in Bangsar South, Cheras Leisure Mall, Tropicana City Mall, Ikano Power Centre & Faber Tower in Taman Desa. This octopus steamboat cost RM59++ for a portion for two persons in 2014 (add RM10 for soju).

Octopus is a recommended add-on at Mr Dakgalbi - tentacles are cut into bite-sized portions & tossed in with the main serving of diced chicken, crunchy veggies & rice cakes, stir-fried on a hot stone plate with gochujang chilli pepper paste, mixed with ramen, followed at a subsequent stage by rice & cheese, for a filling meal with creamy-sticky textures & sweet-spicy flavours.

Mr Dakgalbi has branches at SohoKL, Tropicana City Mall, Sri Petaling, Citta Mall, Setiawalk Puchong & Setapak PV128.

  3. I like that guy's posture, the first pic - so straight! LOL!!! Korean, eh? I don't mind some of their delights as long as it isn't kimchi or kimchi-based. :P
