Angus House has moved from Pavilion to Starhill, occupying a quiet corner of the Explore Floor.
If privacy is what you want, this place might please; we were its only customers on a weeknight.
For better or worse, the menu at Angus House never seems to change; its steaks are as satisfyingly succulent as ever, though its prices will still burn that proverbial hole in the wallet. Three hundred grams of medium-rare tenderloin set us back by RM132++.
Steaks come with fries. Beef & potatoes, a culinary pairing that might endure till the end of time.
Our other favorite here is spaghetti, coated in a light cream with pollack roe & slivers of abalone. Subtly briny, every al dente strand is worth slurping & savoring.
House-pouring Cabernet Merlot by the glass, for RM36++ each. Argh!
For comparison's sake, we took the elevator down to Starhill's Feast Gallery, hopping over to Jake's Charbroil Steak for some more meat.
Last orders at Jake's remain at 12:15 a.m. daily. For that, we're eternally grateful.
Steak to slobber over: 200-gram Aussie tenderloin with baked potatoes for RM80++. Slightly less velvety & juicy than Angus House's version (which costs RM113++ for 200 grams).
Wines at Jake's start at RM22++ (Heartland Stickleback), but they're more vinegary here.
A sweet nightcap can be had a few steps away at Starhill's Village Bar.
Merry's Irish Cream, white chocolate & caramel.
Mozart Black & Cherry Chocolate Cream.
