Citta Mall is an improbable locale for a European-inspired brasserie, especially one that's strictly non-halal, but confounding expectations might be Las Delicias' forte.
Las Delicias' food seems pricey for this part of town, but its ingredients are plentiful & praiseworthy. Can't fault the fettuccine, with lots of lip-smacking pork bacon & luscious scallops luxuriating in light tomato cream (RM34++).
Herb-cooked duck confit, flavorful in a fine fellowship with potato gratin & mesclun in mushroom-&-mustard sauce (RM39++). More elaborate & enjoyable than many other versions.
Cheesecakes constitute the cornerstone of Las Delicias' dessert counter; this mysteriously named "Monte Carlo cake," with traces of wine, is moist & well-balanced in sweet-savoriness.
Complimentary cookies. Reminiscent of buttery-nutty Chinese New Year ones.
And of course, there's red & white by the bottle & the glass. We'll drink to Las Delicias' future, though the lack of a weekend lunch crowd here isn't a positive portent.
Another addition to Citta Mall: Le Trianon, a kiosk that's kinda intriguing because it offers only a small selection of chocolate cakes.
Le Trianon's signature layered creation of the same name, rich & full-bodied in cocoa decadence. Costs slightly under RM10 per slice.

Chocolate cakes! My fave! Gotta get me a slice of Le Trianon soon! :D
ReplyDeleteP.S. Happy Valentine's Day, my friend!
Would like to see their selection of chocolate cakes! Yum yum!
DeleteKenny: your sweet tooth will be your downfall someday! :P p.s. happy having another day to hold the one you love! :D
DeleteCK: very small selection! only two types of chocolate cake, and one of them is sold only by the whole cake, not by slices! :D
DeleteI can imagine you ordering and consuming an entire chocolate cake, why not? Hehe.
DeleteKenny: especially if that cake is drenched in booze (maybe something FBB could whip up _ though i'm still waiting for my alcoholic avocado vanilla cream cake from him!) :D
DeleteOne boozy cake for one boozy fellow? Hehe.
DeleteAs for FBB's alcoholic avocado vanilla cream cake - good luck with that... :P
D duck confit looks good...
ReplyDeleteBy the way I have not tried duck confit b4.....
Mayb someday....
Simple Person: oh, i think Alexis has duck confit (at mid valley gardens, telawi & bangsar shopping center), so that might be a convenient place to try it =)
DeleteCreamylicious duck confit with potato gratin...my kind of place :)
ReplyDeleteUlric: yeah, too bad citta mall is sooooooo far away! =)
DeletePork bacon and scallops in tomato cream....drools!!
ReplyDeleteAgree...a rare combination :)
DeleteBangsar-babe: it's drool-worthy indeed! :D
DeleteOh my! I would love to taste the cocoa cake! Like right now ahaha
ReplyDeleteI also have a soft spot for duck dishes yummm
Rad: a savory main course of duck followed by a sweet dessert of chocolate cake. sounds good! :D
DeleteIs this a new mall?
ReplyDeleteMichelle: the mall opened sometime in the middle of last year =)
DeleteI went there 2 weeks ago, was going to blog about it. hehheheh. Even though is exspensive, the food was surprisingly pretty good. I had the chicken the last round – it was super tender and moist.
ReplyDeleteSmitten by Food: yeah, both the prices & the quality of the food ended up surprising me! :D
DeleteThe pasta and duck confit from Las Delicias actually looks pretty good and worth trying.
ReplyDeleteBaby Sumo: yup, no regrets about ordering either of them! :D
DeleteOh finally more reason to head to Citta Mall! Pricey food shouldn't be surprising in that part of town though - it'll soon be filled with even more high income folk I believe.. =D
ReplyDeleteDrops of contentment: oooh, i actually kinda thought that it should cater to mid-range budgets. the menu prices here seemed closer to that of restaurants in, say, mont kiara =)
DeleteCitta Mall... now this is a different entity from Viva and SSTwo right? I keep getting the new crop of suburban malls mixed up! Duck confit looks worth the Stepford Wife venture!
ReplyDeleteMin: oh yeah, with more malls coming up in PJ later this year, there'll be even more confusion ahead! i'm a fan of viva (cheras), sstwo (PJ) AND citta (ara damansara) though! all three have something to offer! :D
Deletethe Monte Carlo cake and the one that looks like dark choc truffle(?) look interesting!! how does the pasta compare with Gari? :)
ReplyDeleteCiki: ooh, the pasta here is a lot more basic than garibaldi's varieties. Cheaper too, with a bit of a trattoria feel :D
DeleteThe sauce on the duck confit looks decidedly delicious. I'd probably be happy just soaking that up with some bread. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Yum List: the sauce is indeed a thing of wonder! i wonder what its secret ingredients are! :D
DeleteDuck confit looks awesome. I supposed the sauce would make up in case the confit is a wee dry?
ReplyDeleteMissyblurkit: oh yeah, i guess that's sometimes the concern, since ducks are one of the drier meats sometimes, and when cooked as confit, even more so! :D
Deletethat chocolate cake certainly looks really rich. I'm sure one piece is enough!
ReplyDeleteEiling: you're right; i had to share that slice of cake! :D
DeleteLe Trianon is on twitter too!
ReplyDeleteOh, jsut when i mve out of that area, this has to pop up :P
But i mz say parking here is such a breeze!!
Rebecca: that's true, about parking! and i was a bit surprised that parking is still free of charge! :D
DeleteIs there any place you won't eat. I cannot bring myself to walk into Citta Mall. Looks so boring :P (hehe.. im so bad hor)
ReplyDeleteCiki: heheh, there's life blossoming at citta mall nowadays! i think it's worth a stroll on a sunny saturday afternoon! :D
DeleteWent there w Ulric for dinner yest. He arrived first & got slammed for taking pics by a short fella in glasses.
ReplyDeleteI came later, Ulric warned me. So i went up to that fella & asked him politely if I could take pics.
omg, he was so rude & snobbish.
If it wasn't for Ulric, I would have walked off.
Good that I stayed, met the Ops Mgr and told him. At least he apologized on his staff behalf. But the whole incident left a bad taste in my mouth!
Rebecca: yikes! that's not nice at all. i don't think i met that guy during my visit, since nobody warned us about not taking photos. hopefully it doesn't become their official policy here. and yes, politeness to customers is important, as most other outlets realize!
