La Marianna, Bergamo, Italy

If you love stracciatella-flavoured gelato, northern Italy's Bergamo is noteworthy - it's where this milk-based flavour with chocolate shavings was first created in 1962. La Marianna, the shop responsible for pioneering the flavour, still stands today, serving scoop after scoop of stracciatella in this UNESCO World Heritage Site city.
