Honest, time-honoured flavours: Chi Fan is run with lots of heart by Shurqi, a former lawyer whose caseload now consists of cooking, baking & serving customers at her lovely new venue. Her speciality is mee calong, a heritage recipe from her Pahang coastal hometown of Beserah. The noodles come with kitchen-made fish balls prepared with ikan selayang (very tender & naturally tasty) in a light, delicately sweet fish broth that's aromatic with cinnamon & cloves - ideal for folks who love diving deeper into the diversity of Malaysian recipes. True to the restaurant's name, rice & assorted side dishes are also available for lunch. End with one of Shurqi's oven-fresh cakes, perhaps a Victoria sandwich.
