This distinctive new destination hopes to hog the limelight for meat lovers, tickling the taste buds by tackling pork ribs & sandwiches with gumption & gusto in a spirited setting that springs to life with musical gigs & stand-up comedy nights.
TC, Mun Leong & their exuberant team have laboured hard on their BBQ ribs recipe, relying on what they consider the most satisfying local pork possible, marinated till thoroughly savoury & fired to a fleshy tenderness, offered in 'spicy' & 'not really' renditions. RM20 for a half-serving of three ribs, RM38 for six. Sticky-crackly; suitable for folks who like their flavours punchy.
There's a surprisingly wide selection of sandwiches - choose from fun fillings like You Braise Me Up (pork belly), Chewbakkwa (chewy pork), Pull Your Leg (pulled pork), Hoilam Ting (Hainanese-inspired pork chop), Once You Go Black (black-sauce pork), Lazy Bones (pork rib meat ripped from the bones) & SSShock Sendiri (spicy-sweet-salty battered pork) in charcoal, white or wholemeal bread. Most of these hearty sandwiches cost RM15-RM16 each; optional add-ons include fried eggs, cheese or caramelised onions. Feeling crazy? Try 'The Psycho Sandwich,' which contains EVERY meat preparation for RM80.
Side orders are cutely called 'Koochi Koos' - the Freaky Fries are piled with pork & cheese (RM5), while the O.M.G. Garlic turns out to be a fragrant fry-up (RM5). Sip on Strongbow (RM18) & savour the positive vibes here. Ticklish Ribs & 'Wiches will open on Saturday, May 2, starting from 5pm; many thanks to the restaurant's friendly founders for hosting this lively preview.
