A day-&-night peek at a couple of new watering holes, starting with SOP at Paradigm Mall's boulevard.
SOP's menu seeks to please crowds, starting with Parma ham platters, then moving on to pork bacon carbonara pasta & stretching into pork burger, chop & knuckle territory before winding up with a Guinness chocolate lave cake that's creamy but could benefit from a bolder, more beery resonance.
German beers are a highlight here, spanning the pleasant-drinking Bitburger to the likes of Wernesgruner & Licher.
Another possibility for folks who like alfresco bars: Tetto, this one closer to the city center, near Changkat Bukit Bintang.
Tetto's a rooftop lounge with walls of eye-catching graffiti. A nice touch.
Skewered meat & pizzas form the food here; cocktails are limited to classics like Mojitos, with the service team more eager to steer customers toward beer & whisky.
Bonus graffiti-scrawled stop: Manchester Press in Melbourne. Seems to be a cafe by day & events venue by night.
Nice vibe & fun fare (especially the foie gras mousse cones) specially catered for this evening.
And of course, booze makes everything much, much better.
