Graze @ Kuala Lumpur Hilton

Returning to Graze, Hilton KL's new substitute for Senses. Earlier entry on Graze: May 7.

Mimolette might be currently banned in America because of the mites that help make this French cheese fabulous, but Graze's customers can savor it here, turned into a beautiful souffle with raisins & pine nuts (RM28++).

Carrying on with cheese: Goat's cheese beignets with sweet millet (RM25++), expertly executed.

Pissaladiere with caramelized onions, olives & anchovies (RM28++), delectably sweet-savory.

Risotto with saffron, mascarpone & shaved parmesan (RM33++). We shouldn't nitpick about a recipe as beloved as Risotto alla Milanese, but a few bites of this do go a long way. Somewhat one-dimensional in both taste & texture.

Tortellini of potato & fontina cheese with sauteed escargots & baby spinach (RM33++). Wonderful combination of Italian & French components.

Tarts, baked fresh for each meal period & available on a first-come, first-served basis, are the major highlight for dessert. Can't fault the warm tarte tatin, accompanied by vanilla ice cream (RM18++).

Graze's signature chocolate tart should also leave some enjoying each forkful in hushed silence.

Complimentary limoncello & grappa, much appreciated.

With only one miss (the risotto, based on personal preference, since others might love it) out of seven otherwise-spectacular dishes, Graze has set the bar high. As far as KL's hotel restaurants go, Graze is great.

    1. Ulric: yaa, I think you'll enjoy the food here. It honestly reminds me of certain meals in france and Italy, as good as some of the bistro and trattoria fare there, but without having to take the loooooooong flight! :D

    3. Ulric: yay! Prices here are already quite reasonable for the Hilton (most starters are below RM30 before taxes, and the dessert tarts are RM18++), so the card's up-to-50-percent discount will make everything quite a bargain :D

  11. The last time i was at Hilton was when my friend proposed to his gf at Senses!

Salivating on the goat cheese pic! Definitely heading there for the cheese and tart. Was the vanilla ice cream, pure quality vanilla ice cream ?
