A short stroll from the bustle of Changkat Bukit Bintang, Nero Teca scores points for staying open till midnight, offering hearty Italian grub at fair prices and having some of KL's most confident waiters. It gets cramped and crowded at peak hours, but that's part of its charm.
Tagliere Neroteca (selection of cold cuts). Lip-smackingly good, especially the parma ham. Forget about supermarket cold cuts and get your meat fix here.
Neroteca Salad (mesclun in thyme balsamic vinaigrette with croutons, four cheeses, crispy smoked pork bacon, shallots, sundried tomatoes, olives & grilled veggies). The vinaigrette seemed to overpower everything else. Or maybe we just don't like salads. :D
Pasta Neroteca with wild boar ragout. Usually a good choice, but something went awry that night. They ran out of pappardelle and used spaghetti instead, turning this into a very ordinary spaghetti bolognaise.
Tenimenti Nero d'avola IGT Vino Roso 2004, Nerocubano (rum anejo and squeezed orange on the rocks) and Nerostraw (strawberry cream, liquor, coffee and ice).
