Auntie Nit's Kitchen

Auntie Nit's Kitchen offers hearty, homemade, halal takes on Thai-inspired specialities, with different dishes offered each Saturday.

The Thai Jok (RM10) is influenced by the congee of Malaysia's northern neighbour, punchy with soy sauce and crispy garlic oil, packing plenty of fragrant warmth, comfortingly rounded out with a soft egg, sliced ginger, fried shallots and green onions for a tasty, texturally satisfying bowl.

The Beef Kway Chap (RM15) is a no-pork alternative to the Yaowarat staple of Bangkok's Chinatown, with a robust beef broth whose aroma is apparent even while you're unpacking the meal. Rolled flat rice noodles offer a soft, soothing base for the meaty flavour, bolstered by beautifully succulent braised beef beneath the surface, a nourishing lunch with fish balls, beansprouts, coriander and chopped red chillies.
