Tracing its roots three generations back to the founders of a classic Ipoh coffee shop in Gunung Rapat, Kean Seng Kopitiam brings a Hainanese family's culinary heritage to the Klang Valley. Throwback-taste specialities include beef brisket noodle soup, with five-hour slow-cooked meat in a light, clear broth (RM15.90), and Hainanese curry mee, flavoured mildly with curry powder, coconut milk and shallots (RM13.90) - straightforward stuff for a fuss-free lunch. Wash down with Ipoh white coffee and nutmeg lemon juice.
