Gossypium, Bangsar South

It's possible to savour all three square meals in one day at Gossypium - start the morning with the Breakfast Burrito (RM25; a tortilla wrap of scrambled eggs, chorizo, mushrooms, spinach and avocado, rounded out with crunchy-fresh red cabbage slaw, skin-on oven-baked potato wedges and a chipotle lime dip), then lunch on the Good Ol' Chili (RM27; spiced ground beef stew enriched with beans, peppers and tomatoes, bolstered by a poached egg, sour cream, cheddar cheese and sourdough bread) before finishing the evening with a nutritionally balanced dinner of Pumpkin Cream (RM29; penne pasta with pumpkin sauce, tossed with grilled chicken, broccoli, peas and walnuts, plus lashings of coconut cream, chilli flakes and parmesan cheese).

  3. Sometimes when a cafe/restaurant takes over from a closed one, they tend to retain the facade
and looks (with minimal changes) so much so that regulars (or those who have been there before) would recognise it instantly. It's surprising to hear that this Singapore-brand (Forty Hands) did not survive (even with coffees from their sister outlet, Common Man Coffee Roasters). That goes to show just how tough the F&B business is these days. I actually thought their food photos look good and the prices reasonable too. Hope Gossypium does one better with reasonable and similarly priced food.

    1. Contact.ewew: yeah, i think there were a bunch of factors that led to complications with forty hands, but hopefully gossypium will be here to stay - the bangsar south scene at the sphere hub of restaurants is getting to be quite vibrant now :D
