Trattoria I due G, Florence, Italy

Before fleeing Florence, it wouldn't be right to bid arrivederci without binging on bistecca alla fiorentina, the city's signature porterhouse steak, prepared rare with a flavoursome crust.

  1. I love the table cloth - the white linen on the red and white checks. A little effort but goes a long way in making a place a whole lot classier.

  2. When you have a piece of meat as fresh as that, it needs next to nothing to make it magnificent :) To get that fantastic sear, perfect crust and still able keep it rare, the grill must be mighty hot, hot, hot! ;)
