Bistro Richard @ Sentul KLPac

Lakeside dining with a French flavor at Bistro Richard, a nice recent addition to the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center's limited F&B scene.

Nighttime's the best time to savor these serene surroundings, nestled beside Sentul Park's Samira Thai restaurant.

Can't get more French than escargot, right? RM25 before taxes. Always fun.

Coq au vin (RM35), a reasonably well-prepared rendition of the classic chicken recipe braised in Burgundy red wine, with beef bacon, broccoli & mushrooms.

Other European faves are available too, like Veal Milanese (RM42), bread-crumbed & butter-fried.

Steak-lovers, have your beef here with truffle-tinged mashed potatoes, asparagus & ratatouille in a Cognac-laced morel sauce.

Request your meat rare: it's bloody good that way. Bistro Richard is a carnivore's haven.

Sweets are simple but satisfactory, from chocolate chantilly mousse with berries (RM20) ...

... to crepe suzette (RM18) ...

... to the ubiquitous creme brulee (RM18).

Red flows freely to match the meat. Well, freely in the physical sense, not price-wise.

Plenty of competently executed cocktails too, from White Russians to Dry Martinis.

Or ask the bartender for his recommendation, maybe this mix of blue curacao, rum & triple sec.

KLPac's friendly neighborhood kitty bids farewell after pleading powerfully for scraps.

  17. What a bad experience as being not honest. While brought in the champaign n dessert wine saying corkage was 50+25. While paying only mention ohhhh no. Manager said is 100+50. Felt kena con Mann. No more and ban. Not even an hotel level yet corkage 100? Oh dear

  18. Just to share with anyone who intend to visit this restaurant/bistro better think twice or triple times first. The service is big time sucks~ the floor staff can shout at customers and bang table. And if you want to use their website app to make reservations you can forget about it because their staff insist that reservations won't reflect after numerous days.. this is a sharing that I personally had today for my wedding anniversary which suppose to be done at Richard Bistro.
