Classic comfort fare, steamy and soulful: Uncle Lee's curry wild boar, served in an old-school bread bowl, comes with plenty of meat and potatoes (RM13.90), while its Eight Treasures porridge enjoyably brings Teochew traditions to a modern cafe (RM12.90).

Aha!!! Now that's a soup bowl! Had a horrible one here that day that looks like Yorkshire pudding drowned with mushroom gravy!
ReplyDeleteSuituapui: eeks! yeah, it's been awhile since i've had a bread bowl, and even though i don't exactly love them, they complement curries quite well ;)
DeleteI like how the side dishes are served in those small compartmentalized serving dish. I must check this place out but it involves me taking the overhead bridge which I have a phobia of!
ReplyDeletePH: yikes - i can totally empathise, since i'm not a fan of overhead bridges or any form of walking through heights either! :)
DeleteThat's a pretty neat way of serving porridge.
ReplyDeleteKY: guess it makes sense in a cafe context :D
DeleteComfort food at its best!
ReplyDeleteChoi Yen: i used to love teochew porridge when i was younger :D
