Make your day with this friendly alfresco cafe's Malaccan-influenced specialities, creatively cooked by a chef of Kristang Straits-Portuguese heritage.
Devil's curry chicken finds its way into a fulfilling sandwich layered not only with galangal-spiced chicken but Japanese-style tamagoyaki rolled omelette and Tex-Mex guacamole for a one-of-a-kind fusion concoction (RM18).
Prefer rice? Semur beef stew seizes the spotlight in a bowl topped with tender brisket, sweetened with soy sauce, balanced out with more tamagoyaki, pickled cucumber and edamame for donburi with a clear Southeast Asian component (RM15).
Other highlights include the rarely seen Pang Susie, buns of sweet potato dough, evocative of shortcrust pastry, filled with minced chicken and mashed potatoes for a lovely snack served warm and tender (RM3), as well as bubur cha cha crowned with coconut ice cream.
Fun fact: Make Cafe is so named partly because its food is prepared from scratch here (while elements like bread and ice cream are sourced from trusted independent makers). The venue also strives to stage workshops on making simple artisanal products, such as coasters.
