Bled Island Cafe @ Slovenia

Bled Island is one of Slovenia's most iconic destinations, set on a placid, pristine lake, with the Church of the Assumption rising over the island's trees. Take a 'pletna' boat to this picturesque island, climb the 99 stone steps to the top of the slope, and reward yourself with a local Lasko beer, bearing hints of citrus fruits and chestnuts, at a charming cafe beside the church.

  1. Bled, the past tense of bleed? Those collectibles on the counter by the window caught my eye. Wish you had a close up shot of them.

    1. Suituapui: heh, actually there's a town called bled here, which has some pre-slavic origins :D ooo, those collectibles are kinda charming, yeah, but i tend to ignore all that stuff for sale :)

  2. The scenery is stunning. I like this sort of getaway where you just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds. I hate those trips where the ladies want to go shopping. LOL!

    1. Phong Hong: i don't shop either, so i can empathise with you! i'm also about getaways with a good balance of exploring and kicking back, to absorb a sense of the place, the people, the culture and the food! :D
