Milligram @ Taman Mayang Jaya

Gram, the kitty-cat that hangs out outside Taman Mayang's Milligram cafe, adores attention, perks up at the sight of chicken pasta (but completely ignores piccolo lattes) & could use a forever home if anyone's seeking an affectionate new companion.

Gram has terrific taste in her choice of cafes - Milligram is a new neighbourhood refuge with plenty of positive vibes, run by friendly couple Robbie & Trincy with a warm, welcoming team.

Gram won't get cat-feinated though - she pays no attention to Milligram's piccolo latte (RM9; Sulawesi Toraja), even though it's likely to satisfy most human customers.

But she's like a ninja - poised to strike - when the basil chicken pasta with poached egg in turmeric sauce (RM15) surfaces on the table, licking her lips & fixing her stare on the plate.

Milligrams' cakes look meow-worthy - highlights might be the salted caramel & rum-raisin mille-crepes by baker extraordinaire Jason Loo; we haven't specifically tried them here, but we loved them at The Red Beanbag.

    1. Ulric: ya, the owners say the cafe is still a work in progress and they wanna decorate it some more, though i do like it as it is ... a soothing sense of space :) heheh, if gram isn't around when you visit, hopefully someone might have adopted her :)

  2. Hi Sean, you must know that I perked up as soon as I saw this lovely cat, right? I sure did! :) I hope this sweet kitty finds a good, loving and forever home. This cat, (like most cats) has exquisite taste...what a lovely place here. I love the soothing decor with the turquoise colour, very appealing. I love the simple but beautiful Christmas decor and their dessert and coffee offerings are tempting. :)

  4. I'm sorry to be a killjoy but I wouldn't be all that keen eating surrounded by animals...

    1. YouHadYourLunch: that's a legitimate concern, no worries :) in milligram's case, the cat actually remains outside the cafe, at the alfresco area, and doesn't enter the larger interior space :)

  5. Hairy!!! I mean, furry...the cat! LOL!!! Yup, no fan of animals too - one home-dining place here, Austrian guy. Everyone praises what he dishes out to the sky but he has 15 huskies and they say he touches them all the time...and will go on to help cut your roast rack of lamb without washing his hands. Eyewwwww!!!! I never bother to drop by and try, thank you very much.

    1. Curious to see the cross section of the mille crepe...see how thin the layers are and how neatly they are piled up on top of one another...

    2. Suituapui: yeah, i think a lot of it might depend on different factors ... and of course ultimately, our own comfort level with animals :)

    1. Choi Yen: oh, no worries, the cat remains only outside the cafe, it won't stroll inside :)
