Summoning the spirit of scenic gelaterias by Lake Como, Putrajaya's new Gelato A Lago channels a sweet taste of Italy with cool Malaysian twists beside the Putrajaya Lake.
Signature scoops span the Italian icon of Pistachio (the bestseller, nicely nutty with a balanced sweetness) to Malaysian incarnations like Blue Pea (influenced by butterfly pea flowers, rose-infused for floral subtleties to uplift the milky richness).
For a fun treat, try the Affogato, featuring vanilla gelato freshly churned throughout the day for a light, silky stretchiness, poured over with a chocolaty Brazilian-Ethiopian coffee blend from a Bangi-based roaster.
This is Gelato A Lago's first cafe after running as a stall in Cyberjaya Farmers Market. Its founder travelled solo in Italy to seek gelato inspirations from numerous purveyors.
Find Gelato A Lago on Heriot-Watt University Malaysia's campus, open to the public. Prices start at RM10 for a medium cup and RM14 for large, with surcharges for premium flavours.
