The wait is over: Await Cafe has relaunched following a remarkable refurbishment, reflecting two months of meticulous carpentry with artistry in wood, stained glass panels and stark light bulbs.
Delightful details abound in this Taman Desa stalwart, marking its twelfth-year milestone with this transformation, inspired by Taipei coffeehouse charm to complement mainly Taiwanese-roasted beans for light-bodied, clean-tasting hand brews, smooth and soothing.
It’s thoughtfully mindful - everything from the height of the functionally practical bar to the colour choice for the freshly painted walls to the textures of the tableware provides a calm, comfortable encounter with slow-living philosophies. Even the elevated floor evokes a canvas, representing splashes of spilled coffee.
Await Cafe is now serving by reservations only for a patient, personal experience. In mid-December, it’ll reopen for walk-ins, likely with pastries, bagels and sourdough bakes.
