Kettlebell @ Plaza Mont Kiara

Pulling its own weight in front of Plaza Mont Kiara's boutique gym Firestation, Kettlebell specialises in the sort of meals to reinvigorate health buffs following their workouts. But even for couch potatoes like us, the offerings here prove pretty tasty.

Try the meat-free protein rice bowl, packed with brown rice, tofu, tempeh, spinach, spring onions, 63-degree egg, chickpeas, roasted pumpkin, roasted peanuts, red chillies, red cabbage and soy vinaigrette (RM18) - a confidently assembled ensemble, perfectly proportioned, brimming with fresh, satisfyingly vibrant flavours.

If you prefer quinoa as your choice of grain, check out the tricoloured organic quinoa with kale, egg, green beans, sweet peas, edamame, cherry tomatoes, alfalfa, red pepper hummus, smoked paprika parmesan and balsamic olive dressing (RM22) - kudos to Kettlebell's creators for crafting thoughtful, meticulous recipes.

Other options include wholemeal toasts topped with smashed avo, egg, cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, lettuce and spicy tomato salsa (RM22) or roasted peppers, egg, eggplant, zucchini and beetroot hummus (RM18), washed down with shipshape smoothies like the Pina Colada Charger (RM15; protein powder, pineapples, strawberries, bananas, almond milk, coconut oil, honey, ice) and The Force (RM15; espresso, raw cocoa, protein powder, banana, soymilk, honey, ice).
