Casa Del Cocco

Casa Del Cocco: Round Two. Earlier entry: March 4.

There's something about the porky pastas here that make them more wholesome than versions elsewhere. This bolognese spaghetti is soaked in a stew of mincemeat, chicken liver & tomatoes that tastes homemade, rippling with leaves & veggies.

Who knew that carbonara could be almost guilt-free? Sprinkled with pancetta, bathed in a light egg sauce & doused in a dusty mix of Parmigiano-Reggiano & pecorino cheese, this is for everyone who's ever complained that carbonara is cloyingly creamy.

Pork chop with gorgonzola & white wine sauce. Well worth the RM18 we paid for it.

Casa Del Cocco's most divine dessert is pear baked with red wine. Usually our least favorite fruit, but this preparation makes it as honeyed as the most moist mangoes, plump with ripe juiciness.

Alcoholic tiramisu. The Kahlua content seems minimal, but it's still delicious & fresh-tasting enough that it shouldn't be shared.

Wood-fired baked coffee-chocolate mousse, thick & intriguingly deep-flavored.

You're right about the tiramisu. Its not for sharing! And I certainly do not recall sharing mine with anyone so far:P

The baked pear is also very yummy. Quite addictive though I requested for extra ice cream the last time. Mine melted by the time I finished with the pictures. Hehehe.

    1. what is the right cheese that is not so expensive if I buy it at the grocery store?
    2. what is the right ummmm herbs(?) to be had?
    3. If i want to make a chicken spaghetti, what's the right sauce?

    1. Rad: ooo, Parmesan cheese should be fine! If not, then maybe mozzarella cheese. Herbs ... Rosemary or sage would be nice :D and ermm for sauces, maybe just a light olive oil sauce is fine =)

  19. i think this should be a good business model for F&B set-up - good food, relatively reasonable price and low over heads- 10 X better than going to shopping mall restaurants which serve mostly micro-waved food
