Sink your teeth into everything from pork loin and belly to chicken skin, wings and cartilage, beef to lamb, prawns to squid tentacles, powerfully seasoned with classic Sichuan peppercorn, cumin, cinnamon sticks, fennel seeds, bay leaves and star anise.
The skewers take centrestage every evening at FLO, a cafe by day, transformed into a haven for live band performances at night, consistently one of Old Klang Road's liveliest hotspots.
FLO's new menu also includes treats from East to West, from Pad Kra Pow with four eggs to Salmon Fish & Chips, Penang Prawn Noodles and Ipoh Shredded Chicken Hor Fun to Squid Ink Spaghetti with Argentinean Squid, all offered at reasonable prices.
Whether you're seeking a lunch spot with family or a dinner destination with friends, bookmark FLO for flavourful, fiery feasts, memorable with music and mouthwatering fare.
FLO Millerz Square is a versatile space with a stylishly chic vibe, shifting effortlessly through the hours, remaining conveniently open from 9am to 4am everyday.
By day, it’s brightly airy with sunlight streaming through floor-to-ceiling, velvet-draped windows, with a floral charm inspired by cherry blossoms for pops of vibrant colour.
By sunset, it's an energetic lounge and live music venue with polished metallic finishes, its stage standing ready for intimate performances by the backdrop of urban lights.
FLO's barbecued skewer selection is a protein powerhouse, with recommendations like Pork Loin (RM25++ for 6 sticks), Pork Sausage (RM7++), Beef (RM30++ for 6 sticks), Lamb (RM30++ for 6 sticks), Chicken Gizzard (RM9++ for 3 sticks) and Thigh Cartilage (RM15++ for 3 sticks). Grilled to order, these make for scrumptious snacks or a complete meal, potently aromatic to the last bite.
Plant-powered pleasures include Shiitake Mushrooms (RM11++ for 3 sticks), Eggplant with creamy Egg (RM12++), Cabbage, Enoki Mushrooms, King Oyster Mushrooms, Corn, Chinese Chives, Cucumber and Potato Slices.
Thai temptations steam up FLO's selection, bringing a bit of Bangkok to Millerz Square.
Don't miss the Pad Kra Pow with (RM12.90 with 2 eggs, RM15.90 with 4 eggs), featuring tender minced pork made brilliant with basil, rounded out with perfect runny-yolked eggs. One of our favourite Thai basil rice platters in KL right now!
Pineapple Fried Rice (RM23.90) is also a signature, hearty in a hollowed pineapple shell, spilling out with crispy ebi shell-on shrimp that brings a crunchy crustacean contrast to the sweet, juicy pineapple chunks.
The Penang Prawn Noodles (RM12.90) prove gorgeously true to George Town, thanks to its prawn broth paste sourced straight from Penang, rich with a briny umami, complete with noodles crowned with prawns, pork slices, crackling, egg, bean sprouts and fried onions.
Fans of suan cai yu inspirations, try FLO's Golden Broth Sour Pickled Fish (RM15.90), tempting and tangy with toman fish fillets swimming with pickled mustard greens in a bright soup tinged with tofu and tomatoes, perking up the palate immediately.
We're impressed by FLO's Salmon Fish & Chips (RM31.90), with its fabulously moist, flaky salmon fillet, beautifully breaded for a crackly bite, a cut above conventional fish and chips.
For pasta perfection, the Squid Ink Spaghetti (RM30.90) is superbly sumptuous with sleek, contemporary plating, slick and smooth with olive oil and pomodoro sauce, blanketed with a whole Argentinean squid, fleshy and full-bodied with a springy chew.
FLO also has us covered for drinks from morning to night - wake up with the Pistachio Bloom, a nutty-milky pistachio latte (RM13.90), then keep the party going with the Roxie Lychee (mocktail for RM18, cocktail for RM38).
