If you're a fan of halal-certified ramen in the city centre, you've probably lined up for a hearty meal at Maruki Ramen in The LINC KL.

After nearly four years of cultivating a reliable reputation, Maruki Ramen now offers extra convenience for everyone who works or lives in the heart of KL, launching a second branch in The Grange @ Ampwalk, just a five-minute drive from The LINC KL.

This is a sprawling space that occupies over 2,000 square feet, ideal for large groups. It also includes a private dining area for up to 12 patrons, plus alfresco dining for a breezy time.

With a bigger kitchen, Maruki Ramen Cuisine at The Grange @ Ampwalk has debuted exclusive new deluxe ramen and rice recipes, plus Japanese wagyu sizzling yakiniku and steaming-hot sukiyaki for the first time ever.

Maruki Ramen at The LINC KL is halal-certified, with this new branch also working toward certification. All ingredients hail from halal-certified sources, with fresh, farm-to-table produce and no MSG. Noodles are made fresh daily, while the wheat flour for production, dashi and bonito for the broth are imported from Japan, ensuring an authentic experience.

Fun fact: Maruki's chicken broth base is slow-cooked for at least seven hours, resulting in a rich, soulful flavour, free from MSG and starch-based thickeners. This means a more naturally wholesome broth with a soothing texture.

We love the comfortable, cheerful elegance of Maruki Ramen Cuisine at The Grange @Ampwalk. Natural sunlight brings a bright look to the warm wood tones, complete with Japanese-inspired lanterns and illustrations. It's a casual, fuss-free setting that works equally well for everyday lunches as well as celebratory dinners.

A ramen counter provides a peek into how each bowl is painstakingly prepared. Inside, the kitchen boasts separate sections where Maruki's brigade carefully handles every component, including a dedicated ramen noodle room that keeps the firm, full-bodied strands fresh.

As part of Maruki Ramen Cuisine's launch, patrons can enjoy the Aomori Nebuta Platter at a promotional price of RM168 until the end of January 2024 (sufficient for two to share; normal price RM210).

This is a serving of yakiniku that showcases two types of top-tier Japanese A5 wagyu beef, totalling 200 grams in weight, grilled at the table, served with a citrusy yuzu sauce, sea salt, beef sauce, seasonal vegetables and mushrooms.

The beef is sumptuous, with the chef's choice of cuts that comprise a marvellously marbled varietal as well as a more subtle, slightly leaner cut, all with rich, primally satisfying flavours.

The Japanese Wagyu Suki-Ya (introductory price of RM68 until the end of January 2024; normal price RM85) is Maruki Ramen's interpretation of sukiyaki, also spotlighting premium Japanese wagyu beef slices, buttery-smooth with a luxurious flavour.

The wagyu beef is poured over with clear, gently light soup that can be replenished once, bubbling over on the stove, keeping the focus on the fabulously tender, bold-tasting meat, served with seasonal vegetables and a bowl of Japanese rice.

Both the yakiniku and sukiyaki are only available at The Grange @ Ampwalk.

Maruki Ramen Cuisine has also unveiled deluxe ramen recipes to widen its range.

The Wagyu Deluxe Ramen (RM78.90; also available at The LINC KL) brings together Japanese wagyu slices with premium Australian beef slices for the best of two worlds, rounded out with ajitama soft-boiled egg, fresh shallots and spring onions. It's served in a choice of broth, such as the Classic Kuro, which infuses black garlic oil into the signature white chicken broth for intense aromatics.

The Spicy Peppery Lime Ramen Deluxe (RM42.90) is now exclusively available at The Grange @ Ampwalk and will be launched at The LINC KL soon. It's irresistible for Malaysian palates, with a protein-packed medley of premium Australian beef slices, glazed rolled chicken and tuna, plus ajitama soft-boiled egg, spring onions and seaweed, as well as unconventional condiments of green chilli sauce with zesty lime. The chilli sauce brings an addictive firepower to this unique ramen, with the lime cutting through the heat beautifully.

The Japanese Curry Wagyu Bowl (RM48) is another exclusive for now at The Grange @Ampwalk, creamy and comforting, with succulent cubes of Japanese wagyu beef immersed in sweetly mellow Japanese curry with carrots and potatoes, complete with Japanese rice, egg, spring onions and seaweed for a time-honoured bowl.
