Stir-fries with customisable twists: Branded as an "Asian Street Wok," Wokow is firing up TTDI with wok-fried noodles and rice that can be mixed and matched with your choice of ingredients and sauces. Japanese udon with squid, spinach and shiitake mushrooms in Thai green curry or tom yum sauce? Ban mian with beef and broccoli, stir-fried with sambal or oyster sauce? Or bee hoon with chicken breast and baby corn in a flavour inspired by Penang loh mee? The combinations might seem infinite.
We picked pad thai for our noodle base (RM9 for 180 grams; on a basic budget, you can have it just like that, fried simply with egg, cabbage, carrots and spring onions), then tossed in some prawns (RM2.50 for 70 grams) and cashew nuts (RM1.50 for 40 grams), with Black Fire (black pepper and garlic) for our flavour profile.
This turned out to be totally satisfying, well-balanced both in taste and texture, sufficiently smoky, loaded with more prawns than expected. The portion is suitable for a full meal; there are several other complimentary toppings that you can add on (from peanuts to fried onions, lime to fresh coriander), and you can request your serving to be spicier if desired.
All in all, Wokow offers a terrific concept for folks who enjoy well-executed stir-fried noodles or rice - you can savour a different combination each time you visit, all at reasonable rates. Service is warm and gracious.
