Flingstones is maturing into one of Subang's most satisfying cafes for both food & beverages; with several interesting new temptations now on the menu, this feels like the right time to return here for a well-crafted meal laced with likeable surprises.
The Porky Fat Rice XL (RM20) deserves to be a best-seller - as its name signals, it's a high-calorie, high-pleasure feast, featuring Flingstones' own-made nasi lemak (firm & fairly flavoursome) with a scrumptious rempah pork belly (achingly succulent & aromatic), minced pork sambal (richly thick & punchy) & all the other essential, expertly executed accompaniments. And since it's currently the season to indulge, you might want to also order Flingstones' Babi Fried Rice (RM18), reputedly loaded with crispy pork lard, pork bacon, lap cheong & century eggs - we'll aim to try that next time.
Pastas also provide a potent punch: the Kapowww Spaghetti (RM18) comes wok-fried with chicken in a slick, spicy sauce - part of a leave-your-diets-behind selection that also includes a notorious 'chu yao char' angel hair, bacon carbonara & mushroom aglio olio (RM16-RM18). You can even add on ingredients like fried or scrambled eggs & sausage to your pastas.
With public frenzy over The Force now peaking, Flingstones has devised two novelty beverages, constructed with Darth Vader coffee cubes or Stormtrooper milk cubes. Available for a limited time, these 'Star Wars Fever' drinks (RM15 each) serve as playful, photogenic fun, as customers pour cold milk over icy Vader masks & melt trooper helmets with hot chocolate or coffee.
In time for Christmas, Flingstones introduces a Dirty Gingerman (RM13), containing coffee, milk & pleasantly mellow house-made ginger syrup, served with a cheerful gingerbread man cookie on the side. Ideal to sip while enjoying a ''Tiramichu,' lushly creamy-soft & irreproachably flavoured with the cafe's premium coffee blend. Many thanks to Flingstones for having us here.
