Living Food Bistro @ Tan & Tan, Tun Razak

Checking back into Living Food, where the kitchen's constantly cooking something new.
Earlier Living Food entries: Jan. 5, 2012; Jan. 19, 2012; Oct. 24 & Nov. 3.

Start with salads: this "Mekong" one (RM18+) is a hearty-tasty Asian mix of glass noodles, spiral carrots, cucumber & caramelized onions in kaffir lime dressing.

Soup's up! Hot & healthy, we like both the roast mushroom & lentil soups, the former laced with crunchy hemp seeds, the latter with cauliflower.

Ceviche isn't the province of only Peruvian outlets: Living Food serves this raw-marinated fish too, using jade perch with spiral veggies & lemongrass sambal (RM22+).

Sorta like shepherd's pie: a mash-topped stew of mushrooms, zucchini, carrots & lentils.

Sorta like sushi: a "maki" of quinoa, avocado, mango & cucumber in "nori" rolls. Delicious.

Raw granola gets the star treatment here: Munch on them plain or have them with bananas & strawberries in granola milk for a creative cereal.

Desserts can't get healthier than this black forest brownie (RM12+), a pleasurably fruity-nutty cake made with almond flour & walnuts, blanketed in cashew cream.

Love this one too: Salted caramel gateau (RM12+), a vegan concoction of dehydrated apples coated in salted caramel with macadamias & medjool dates.

Surprise bonus salad stop: Neroteca might be best known as a sanctuary for swine, but there's a sweeping selection of salads here too.
Earlier entries on Nero Teca: Feb. 2009 & June 2012.

Mediterranean mix topped with Asiago cheese (RM26+), plus a grilled veggie combo with olives, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes & smoked scamorza cheese (RM28+) ...

... as well as a four-prawn Catalana salad (RM35+) & Piemontese one with marinated chicken, mushrooms, Parmesan cheese & tuna sauce (RM30+).
