Returning to Sushi Hinata for sacraments of succulence. Earlier entry: March 19.
To recap, Sushi Hinata serves thematic sets; for this round, we nibbled on the RM45+ silver fish selection, which includes carangidae with spring onions & ginger ...
... mackerel ...
... & gizzard shad, all strong-flavored without being repulsively stinky.
A three-tsukemono maki set is available for RM48++ for the pickled pleasure of Hinata's patrons.
Traditional pickles, Kyoto-style pickles & miso burdock pickles constitute this set. Can't truly tell them apart, apart from their colors.
The white-fleshed fish trio (RM48+) comprises bastard halibut, sea bream & right-eye flounder.
Delicate but decadent; in other words, what the most mouthwatering sushi should be.
Special orders might include the can't-get-better-than-this sea urchin sushi (RM48+).
Veggies for fiber; simple & clean-tasting enough not to steal the spotlight from the sushi.
Thank the chef if he offers complimentary bites like luscious white shrimp with ikura.
Fresh omelet to cap an excellent meal.
Choya & aragoshi umeshu. The latter's pricier & less mouth-puckering.
Yuzu Komachi & wine, nicely offered at Sushi Hinata by both the bottle & the glass.
