Kampai has launched its latest location at Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, promising unbeatable value for an unlimited extravaganza of halal-certified Japanese A5 wagyu beef.
This is Kampai's first outlet that offers a shabu-shabu buffet combined with Kampai's popular all-you-can-eat yakiniku, plus about 30 refillable Japanese delicacies and dishes.
Expect eight types of yakiniku cuts for this top-tier A5 wagyu beef, from the tri-tip to sirloin cap to premium short ribs - excellent for exploring different depths of flavour and texture.
Priced at RM299++ per patron, this is a wonderful choice for wagyu indulgence, conveniently located near the PWTC LRT station.
Bonus points for Kampai's zen setting, which includes soothing rock garden views!
Kampai Seri Pacific is spaciously calm and comfortable, fabulous for families and friends. There's a corner for every occasion, plus a cutting room to watch the wagyu beef being sliced.
Kampai's A5 Wagyu Buffet showcases unlimited servings of eight cuts, each yielding its own distinctive, decadent experience.
These comprise Katasankaku (shoulder clod, rich and marbled), Togarashi (chuck tender, for a firmer bite), Ichibo (sirloin cap, sumptuously succulent), Kainomi (flap meat, joyously juicy), Tomosankaku (tri-tip; melt-in-the-mouth buttery), Sotobara (short plate, fatty with a clean taste), Karubi (short ribs, full-bodied and fleshy) and Jyo Karubi (premium short ribs - our favourite, luscious with robust flavour).
Sizzling for sultry satisfaction, the A5 wagyu beef is gorgeous for grilling, complemented by condiments such as Himalayan pink salt (bringing out the flavour of the meat brilliantly, laced with a little pepper), Kampai spicy sauce (its firepower softened with a subtle sweetness) and classic yakiniku sauce. Savour as much beef as you want for a total of two hours per session.
Shabu-shabu is stellar - select a base of sukiyaki-style soup or oxtail broth, elevated with wagyu Miyazaki gyu top sirloin, cooked within seconds when swished in the steaming-hot soup with comfortingly fresh vegetables. A fun way to cleanse the palate and complete the meal after the yakiniku.
Other wagyu offerings include Beef Tongue (Signature Thick Cut, with a bouncy chew) and Beef Tongue (Thin Cut, gentle-flavoured and easy to slurp up).
The Wagyu Skewers make for moreish munching - carnivorous kushiyaki to chomp on, bursting with the boldness of the best beef.
Wagyu Fried Rice satisfies cravings for carbs with protein - crisp grains with savoury, umami-strong meat.
The buffet includes sashimi of Norwegian salmon, tuna and butterfish. For a balanced meal, order the Kampai Signature Salad with Norwegian salmon cubes buoyed by avocado and orange dressing, plus small plates of Korean-inspired kimchi, seaweed and spinach namul.
Cooked dishes include New Zealand lamb shoulder with brown sauce, chicken wings, breaded shrimp, and tempura squid rings - scrumptious to snack on in between the beef.
Beyond the beef buffet, Kampai serves an a la carte menu that includes wagyu platters of cuts such as rib loin, sirloin thick cut, oyster blade and ribeye cap, plus seafood and teppanyaki of giant squid, foie gras and more.
Kampai Seri Pacific has three private rooms, including two tatami-based ones that can cater to six and 12 patrons each or more than 20 combined.
