KL's new cafe with old-world charm, a five-minute walk from Merdeka Square: Fiftig Seofon (translated to 57, a tribute to 1957) is a lovely fresh space in a heritage townhouse.

In this sanctuary of serenity in the city centre,. the welcoming team serves specialities from East to West, from Nasi Lemak Pattaya to Smoked Salmon on Sourdough Toast, coupled with classic coffee and contemporary lattes.

For a less guilty lunch, go for the Grande Soya Lah - toasted pecans with rolled oats, mixed berries, yoghurt and organic soybean milk - plus citrusy coolers like the Asamboi Ginger Lime and Cranberry Limeade.

Top tip: Get the window-side tables upstairs with prime views of both the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower.

Find Fiftig Seofon on a cosy corner of Rumah Tangsi, 10am to 10pm.
