Set to launch 16 November, Sakuragawa Cafe by Mihachinodo is Bangsar's new sanctuary for daifuku and Japanese-inspired drinks, run by a KL-based husband-and-wife team inspired by their travels through Japan.
On a recent test run, Sakuragawa Cafe delighted diners with delicately dainty daifuku in flavours like rose lychee, red bean, peppermint Oreo and osmanthus oolong tea, paired with milky genmaicha and hojicha beverages.
More desserts will be available later this month, followed by savoury snacks like onigiri next year, served in a soothing setting lined with Japanese cultural flourishes, including beautifully textured cherry blossom-inspired wallpaper.
Fun fact: Mihachinodo refers to a Japanese couple whom this cafe's founders met and learned culinary skills from in Japan's city of Sakuragawa.
