Hogan Bakery Malaysia: 2018 Mooncakes

Hopping onto our plates this Mid-Autumn Festival, Hogan Bakery's Moon Rabbit collection of mooncakes is offered in charming box sets that should cheer the spirits of everyone who's young at heart.

The mooncakes, crafted in small batches with fresh ingredients, are available in three different sets, each featuring two flavours.

Hogan Bakery's Mooncake Set 2 (RM39.90) comprises the Classic Select (the signature single egg yolk mooncake made with lotus seeds and melon seeds, baked with aromatic peanut oil, resulting in a textured creation with a slight crunch) and the Golden Gem (a lotus paste mooncake with a salted egg yolk custard core, creamy and pleasurably sweet-savoury).

Set 3 (RM35.90) brings a splash of extra colour with the Red Treasure (a classic red bean paste mooncake cooked with rose sugar, supplying a floral fragrance) and the Emerald Fortune (welding together subtle nuances of matcha with potent notes of coffee, indulgently balanced out with a cheese blend at its centre for a distinctive delight).

While we didn't try Set 1 (RM39.90), it also contains the Classic Select as well as the Local Couture, a pandan lotus seed mooncake.

If you purchase two boxes, you'll receive a RM5 Hogan Bakery gift voucher; alternatively, purchase four boxes to receive a RM15 voucher.
