This Korean family-run restaurant offers the rare treat of an all-you-can-eat spread, specialising in grilled goodness.
Start the feast with everything from 'pajeon' pancakes to 'jap chae' glass noodles, fried chicken to beef ribs, 'gimbap' rice rolls to 'tteokbokki' rice cakes, all prepared according to the Choi family's time-honoured recipes. Dinner - 6pm-11pm - clocks in at a reasonable RM39.90 nett for adults & RM24.90 for kids; lunch costs even less (RM19.90 for adults) but comprises fewer items.
The main lure: Help yourself to the BBQ fare, ready to be cooked, with plenty of meaty pork slices, beef, chicken & seafood.
For folks who enjoy cooking their own food, Ssikkek will prove a pleasure; otherwise, no worries - the restaurant's efficient crew can help, expertly ensuring that all the meat, prawns, calamari, pumpkin & broccoli is well-respected & well-prepared.
The food is fresh & full-flavoured, catering especially to customers who prefer a relatively heavy touch in terms of seasoning. Our favourite? Perhaps the garlic pork, of which we had second helpings. The baby octopus is OK - spicier than suspected.
Ssikkek goes the full route for a buffet, finishing up with ice cream. Many thanks to the Choi family for hosting this meal.
