Returning to Tray Cafe, Haute Food Co's successor at Plaza Damas.
Earlier entry on Tray Cafe: November 4.
What's better than a big, buttery croissant? Well, a big, buttery croissant that's bursting with soft-boiled eggs, mayonnaise & chives.
Omelet stuffed with cheese & mushrooms (RM10). No complaints; satisfactory in its simplicity.
Hummus sandwich. Hits the spot, the windfall of roasted veggies & chickpea mash makes each bite into this crisp ciabatta a flavorful one. No meat needed.
Pancakes with apples & cinnamon butter (RM12). Surprisingly close to sweet perfection.
Peanut butter alert! Reese's peanut butter chocolate cake, remarkably rich.
Tiramisu, tinged with sherry, fresh & creamy.
Berry brilliance: a tart brimming with strawberries, blueberries & raspberries.
Red velvet, enjoyably moist, even at the end of the evening. Tray Cafe opens only through 5pm, but whispers of a soon-to-come Friday night supper club have surfaced.
Flour-free orange cake, topped with almonds. Tray's definitely no desert for desserts.

Tray makes its coffee with Indonesia's Merdeka Roasters Arabica. Every cup costs under RM10.
The list of Naturalis hot herbal tea here is as long as the coffee selection.
Customers consigned to Tray's alfresco area in the afternoon can cool down with iced chocolate, made with real choc pieces.
