Inspired by humorous memes, a Bob Crosby song, and the founder's beloved late pug named Sharpay, Damansara Jaya's new Dear Hearts and Chilled Spirits is a neighbourhood cocktail bar that pours out plenty of wit, wonder and whimsy.

With a sense of comedic charm embodied by its nostalgic TV Guide-style menu, Dear Hearts and Chilled Spirits serves up imaginative sips like Naked & Nourished, a bare-faced twist on the Naked & Famous cocktail, smoky with the vegetal uplift of mezcal and Aperol with carrot, celery, cucumber and herbal liqueur.

Run Bing Chilling is silky-sweet with the delicious dessert tang of cachaca with cilantro, clarified Greek yogurt and macadamia, plus a surprise spoonful of coriander-infused ice cream.

Also sip the Moonlight Sarsaparilla, rooty with the childhood-channelling creaminess of spiced rum and Sarsi with vanilla, cream cheese, rhubarb and violet, vibrantly balanced with sensuous subtleties.

The Mantis hops in place of the classic Grasshopper, synergising shochu with mint, chocolate and bell pepper. Other cocktails reinterpret the Black Russian, Tequila Sunrise, Old Fashioned, Pina Colada and more.

Bar bites evoke diner delights: Hot dogs with all the condiments, plus corn in a cup coated in cheese, mayo, chilli powder, coriander and lime.
