Sea Park’s cheerful new spot for banana leaf rice and more, Achi Ayahdorai is a family-run Malaysian Indian restaurant that heartily honours a grandmother’s recipes.
The lunchtime BLR (RM11.90) is a lip-smacking spread of steaming-hot rice splashed with six soulful curries and dal, partnered with pineapple pachadi, snakegourd podalanga koottu, crispy-fried cabbage, raita, papadum, chutneys, dried chillies and sweet kesari.
The a la carte menu is extensive, showcasing a spicy spectrum of local cooking, from a fiery Malay-inspired rendang of lion’s mane mushrooms to lemongrass-laced Nyonya ikan bakar of market-fresh grilled fish.
