A house of wonders in white and other colours, Ruma Puteh is a residence-turned-restaurant where every corner seems worth exploring - take a table by a tree and take an hour to enjoy the open garden space, with its winsome multi-arched walkway to the entrance.
Ruma Puteh’s repertoire includes a range of specialities most popular in Johor, from lontong to laksa. The Lontong Darat is a full platter’s worth of rice cakes with chunky beef rendang, sayur jawa and serunding (RM22.90), while the Laksa Bugis is Johor’s spaghetti-based laksa, meant to be mixed up with a rich fish broth and ulam (RM21.90). Kacang Phool (RM20.90) features spiced fava beans thickly cooked with minced beef, plopped with a poached egg. Hearty fare for healthy appetites.
