The family that runs Gombak Hokkien Mee has specialised in its signature recipe for more than three decades, beginning with a stall in - of course - Gombak. This year, they've moved to Puchong to launch a full-fledged restaurant, with Hokkien Mee as the cornerstone of their menu - a basic version costs RM9, with options to add on extra pork liver (RM2) and crunchy pork lard (RM1). The flavours prove competent, though for some customers, the spotlight might be stolen by other potentially tastier offerings like the raw egg-endowed moonlight kuey teow (RM9) and omelette-submerged mee suah ginger soup (RM9).
