The Werner's Group's latest contribution to its stronghold of Changkat Bukit Bintang is home to Malaysia's biggest rum selection, trotting from Trinidad to Thailand, Belize to Barbados, Puerto Rico to the Philippines, to offer more than 200 labels, served over ice, in flights, as cocktails or even transformed into rum ciders. The bar's opening party provided a fun peek into its future: If you're a fan of The Whisky Bar that's long been a Werner's favourite on this street, this is the rum-loving equivalent, bringing plenty of intriguing elements to the table.
While enthusiasts can spend many happy evenings exploring the shelves of rum, the rest of us might indulge in The Rum Bar's cocktails - perhaps the Chocolate & Orange Old Fashioned, blending Diplomatico Mantuano with dark cacao, orange curacao, & angostura & orange bitters. The Rum Bar also takes pride in its Rum Cider originals, combining rum with Strongbow ciders for reinvigorating concoctions like The Don (Cana Brava 3-Year-Old + Strongbow Gold Apple), Spring Buzz (Angostura Reserva + Strongbow Elderflower), Honeydrop (Cachaca 51 + Strongbow Honey) & Berry Sweet (Captain Morgan + Strongbow Dark Fruit). Food is never an afterthought at Werner's outposts - a preview of the kitchen's capabilities proved impressive, with nuanced flavours & fresh textures to represent global cuisine with key ingredients sourced from Borneo.
