This casual new lair for Italian-Japanese fusion fare in Subang puts pizza at the forefront & prawn tempura on top.
Raku Pizza tackles mix-&-match pies - choose a crust (plain dough, charcoal or herbs), select a sauce, then go crazy with your pick of toppings. Our first one features a mild herb base with soft-shell crab, curry sauce, mozzarella cheese, rocket leaves, okonomiyaki sauce & Japanese mayo (RM14.90; the serving should be sufficient for lunch for one person or a snack for two).
Charcoal pizza with karaage chicken, mashed potato, bonito flakes, shredded seaweed, wasabi mayo & mentai mayo (RM15.30). The crust has a biscuit-like texture that supplies a crunchy bite but can make the pizza seem a bit dry; the toppings are flavoursome, but the pieces of soft-shell crab & chicken might not be substantial enough for some customers - a sacrifice to prevent prices from sky-rocketing. Still, the mix-&-match theme is a fun one with some potential. Service is friendly & helpful.
