42 East: Round Two. Earlier entry: January 3.
Rejoice! 42 East has introduced intriguing new additions to its menu: Malaccan traditional favorites, including juicy pork satay, served with pineapple-laced peanut sauce. Essential food to check out for the complete 42 East experience.
Peranakan pork belly pongteh. For everyone who's tired of seeing only chicken pongteh at the Klang Valley's Nyonya restaurants, here's a sumptuous alternative _ a soybean paste stew that masterfully mixes sweet and savory flavors, brimming with achingly tender pork.
Devil's Curry with soft pork ribs. As spicy as it should be. The authenticity of 42 East's offerings is indisputable, since it's run by my Malaccan-born brethren (including one from my alma mater, SFI). Fellow Franciscans can even get a discount.
Here's a twist to 42 East's acclaimed baby back pork ribs. No, that greenish goo on top of the meat isn't moss. This version is glazed with wasabi _ a stroke of genius that supplies an inimitably spicy kick.
A pork burger is also available now, featuring a thick, tender patty, smothered with a gooey blend of onions, mushrooms & pineapples. One fine mess indeed.
Lavin Valley Merlot. For easy drinking; a decent deal for RM88.
