AirAsia BIG: Dine, Earn & Redeem BIG Points

We love Bangsar for its diversity of distinctive dining possibilities – from New York-style pizza to Nyonya soul food, imaginative burgers to Instagrammable ‘freakshakes,’ vegan salads to playful waffles, or simply a satisfying pasta or steak, you’ll find it all in the Telawi neighbourhood.

There’s a compelling new reason to eat out more often in Bangsar now – AirAsia BIG, AirAsia’s loyalty programme, has just launched a ‘Dine, Earn & Redeem with your mobile number’ initiative for you to earn and/or redeem your BIG Points in-store by using your mobile number for every transaction at 12 restaurants in Bangsar.

The process is super-easy: Just visit any of these 12 restaurants, and tell them you’d like to earn AirAsia BIG Points when you’re paying. Enter your mobile number on the merchant tablet to link your AirAsia BIG Account (it’ll only take a few seconds). Points will be awarded into your AirAsia BIG Account 24 hours after the transaction (RM1 spend = 1 AirAsia BIG Point).

You can also redeem your AirAsia BIG Points for a selected range of menu items – or save up your points to redeem flights to over 120 destinations on AirAsia’s network!

As part of this programme launch on Friday & Saturday (13-14 January, 2017), look out for the BIG Crew on the streets of Telawi to participate in exciting games & win instant BIG Points. You can then head immediately to participating restaurants to redeem the BIG Dining Rewards.

Social media fans can share food pictures at participating restaurants on Instagram with the hashtags #AirAsiaBIG & #AirAsiaBIGBangsar - the most drool-worthy photo each week will win 1,000 AirAsia BIG Points (contest valid from 13 January to 31 March, 2017; the winner will be announced every Sunday).

For Jan. 13-14, customers can earn double or even five times the reward points!

2x Earn for Jan. 13-14
All transactions performed at participating restaurants will earn 2x points. You just need to inform the waiter that you want to earn AirAsia BIG Points for your purchase, and provide your mobile number. After a one-time linkage of your mobile number to your BIG account, points will be awarded into your BIG account after 24 hours. You can also earn the points first at store, then sign up and get their points.

5x Earn for Jan. 13-14
• For participating partners, 5x points is offered for members that call in advance to make a reservation (2x earn and bonus 3x for making reservation). When making a reservation, please quote 'AirAsia BIG' to earn AirAsia BIG Points and provide your name and mobile number. 2x earn will be awarded 24 hours after the transaction once your mobile number is linked, and the additional 3x bonus points for the BIG Reservation will be awarded by 31 January 2017.

This week, we’re highlighting six of the outlets participating in the AirAsia BIG programme (watch out for our follow-up feature on the remaining six venues & other news & information next week!).

1. Ashley’s By Livingfood

Seeking to spearhead a 'real food' revolution, Ashley's cuisine is tricky to categorise - not exactly health food, but more of fare that's constructed with meaningful, mindfully sourced ingredients with true ties to farms, the land & the sea.

2. Shelley Yu's

Shelley Yu’s deserves recognition for attempting something determinedly different, pairing Peranakan fare with Nyonya-inspired cocktails in a setting filled with exuberant artistic flourishes.

3. Mikey’s Original New York Pizza

A slice of The Big Apple in Bangsar, & a safe harbour for huddled, hungry masses yearning to breathe free & binge on hot, hearty pizzas.

4. Patissez
Patissez, originally from Canberra, has surged to international fame with monster-sized milkshakes heaped high with out-of-control toppings.

5. Maria's Steak Cafe

Steak is what customers will be after here - the speciality: Aussie chilled Black Angus, supplies meaty satisfaction.

6. The X
The X showcases a menu of small plates that spotlight contemporary, cross-continental dining.

Note: The other six participating restaurants are The Daily Grind, Ojo Coffee, Wafflemeister, Moo Cow, Fatto A Mano, & Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf.
