AMPM Cafe @ USJ Subang Jaya

Morning or night, AMPM maintains a timeless appeal that makes it worth clocking in here for a bite & some beverages.

Spread over two floors, there's space aplenty for customers to roam, find a private corner & settle comfortably in for a spell to admire AMPM's artwork & perhaps even create some of their own.

Breakfast is served all day through the close of business hours; if you're here early, then have the Big Breakfast (RM19.90), complete with your choice of eggs (poached, scrambled, sunny-side-up or over-easy), citrus-tinged beef bacon, sweet potatoes, spiced chicken sausage, roasted wild mushrooms, baked tomatoes, refried beans & toast. Fans of Big Breakfasts will notice that AMPM strives to make its version distinctive, experimenting with ingredients with intriguing twists.

Lunch? Perhaps pie; AMPM is proud of its surprisingly substantial chicken mushroom pie (RM18). Fair prices for fine portions; practically everything on AMPM's meals menu costs no more than RM24 per serving.

For dinner: Hoisin pulled duck burger with cili padi aioli & lotsa fries (RM22); tender meat, but could be a bit punchier in flavour.

Supper-time snacking? You can have it savoury - sweet potato fries with salted egg dip make for a fun idea - or sweet - the Bailey's chocolate cake is lovably laced with a little liquor. Munch on 'em while mulling over a round of Monopoly or Jenga.

AMPM has tweaked with its coffee in recent weeks, & the results now prove worthwhile - try a flat white, latte or cappuccino (RM9). But if it's too late in the PM for caffeine, then sip on watermelon, carrot or pineapple juice (RM7 each) to unwind. Many thanks to AMPM's friendly team for hosting our visit here.
