Seoulscape @ Kota Damansara

Korean cafes keep getting hipper, thanks to outlets like Seoulscape, where the landscape looks cheerier than traditional meat-&-kimchi restaurants.

From K-pop posters on the walls to a menu like handcrafted patchwork, Seoulscape's a treasure trove of eye-catching pleasures that set the mood for lip-smacking eating.

Kalbi (RM18), succulent, sweet-savory pork marinated in ganjang soy sauce.

Slightly on the bland side for us, but somehow satisfactory in its sheer simplicity: janchi guksu, wheat flour noodles in a light broth, garnished with thinly sliced fried egg.

Kinchi fried rice. Sure, nothing here is revolutionary or immediately remarkable, but Seoulscape's friendly service & honest food make for a winning combination.

Side dishes here aren't too extensive, but they're still generously offered on a free-flow basis.

Complimentary cookies to wrap up a pleasant meal in a very pleasant place.

Bottoms up! Yakso, an intriguing mix of soju & yakult. Probiotic booze.

Green tea for two. Here's hoping Seoulscape expands eventually; would love a Publika branch.
